This fig with the giant leaves attached came from my parents’ backyard, where they planted three fig trees. It’s nothing like what I see in the market and looked as if it would fly away. The leaves curled by the minute as a I painted on a hot summer day outside, and added to the energy in the painting since I had to keep painting quickly before they changed form.
